Welcome to Active Mind's Preschool!

Active Minds Preschool focuses on teaching 3 and 4-year olds the skills they need to start kindergarten, including letter recognition and sounds, writing, shapes, colors, numbers, social skills, music, science, fun and much, much more! We have a lot of hands on learning and crafts to help cement the concepts being taught. Children will learn social skills and get one-on-one attention in a small classroom setting of only six children.

Where are all the color activites??

We have been learning about colors during the last few weeks, and will continue to work on colors until the end of November. So where are all the color activities? Each week your child paints with the color of the week. I keep those paintings until the end of the unit, when we will make them into a special book about colors. I try to incorporate the color of the week into the theme for the week, to reinforce the color too. The kids love painting! Ask your kids about the color of the week to see if they can remember.

Upcoming fun!

Our pumpkin patch field trip is very soon. The Monday/Wednesday class will be going October 13th, which is next Wednesday. The Tuesday/Thursday class will be going October 21st, the following week. Everybody loves this field trip. Each child gets to ride on a hay wagon, choose a pumpkin, run in the hay bale maze, and eat popcorn and juice. The cost of the field trip was included in your registration fee and there is no charge for adults. If you would like to attend with your child, please meet us at the Linder Farms Pumpkin patch at 10:00. We should be finished with the field trip at 11:30, and you can take your child home with you. If you will not be attending, bring your children to preschool by 9:30 and I will transport them. Please be sure to have a jacket, long pants and tennis shoes for your child. The pumpkin patch can be very scratchy! I will send permission slips home shortly.

Zoo fun!

I had a blast at both zoo field trips! The animals performed both days. The Monday/Wednesday class got to see a lion paw at them through the glass and the Tuesday/Thursday class got to pet a badger! Both group were able to see the Sloth Bear. It was a real treat! Enjoy the pictures of some of the animals we saw.
